Peter Frankl
Peter Frankl studied at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest with Professors Hernádi, Kodály and Weiner. As a young performer he was awarded first prize at several international piano competitions. Following his London debut and his subsequent New York debut with the Cleveland Orchestra, he has been active with leading U.S. and European orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Orchestre de Paris, Israel Philharmonic, and the prominent London orchestras.
He has appeared with the conductors Claudio Abbado, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Sir John Barbirolli, Pierre Boulez, Antal Doráti, Bernard Haitink and Loren Maazel, among others. Tours have taken him to Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Mr. Frankl has made more than 20 appearances at London's Promenade series and has recorded extensively. He has led master classes at the Royal Academy and Royal College in London, Liszt Academy in Budapest and the Van Cliburn Institute in Texas. Mr. Frankl now lives in London and is visiting professor at Yale University School of Music, New Haven, Connecticut.
